The Eighth Day is an online interactive graphic novel. It features 6 full page spreads of illustrations in the form of comic book panels which are interactive in two modes. The first mode is the 'Full Page' mode, where the user is able to click on individual panels to hear sounds and see animations from within that panel. The other mode is 'Experience Mode' which displays a full page enlarged to the size of a double spread, which scrolls automatically with sound and animation in sync with what the user sees.
The story for the Eighth Day is set in the not too distant future, where natural conception has become illegal and children are now designed. It centres on a 15 year old, naturally conceived girl called 'Bo'. She is beginning to realise a special ability within herself known as photographic reflexes. The realisation of this power sparks a massive uproar of the artificial versus the naturally conceived. Bo begins to fear for her life as the government attempt to eliminate any proof of her existence.
The website allows user to gain in-depth knowledge on characters, the creation process, the back story as well as discuss the graphic novel with other readers.
