Contact

by James Griffiths, 2006

The 'Contact' menu is a touch screen program for deployment in a bar or restaurant. It enables the user to purchase their food and drink direct from the table and send it straight to the kitchen to be processed. The front-end system is supported by a mySQL database back-end which can be viewed in any browser (Please see the URL link on this CD to view the back-end, or use the following URL - http://nemesis.bournemouth.ac.uk~jgriffiths/contact.index.html). As well as being able to order their food and drink items, the user has other features available to them:

- The ability to play games in the 'Games' section. Successful completion of these games enables the user to receive ten percent off their next purchase.

- The ability to post messages on a message board (which would be linked to screens around the bar).

- The ability to listen to music in the 'Music' section, which continues to play while they are in the program.

- The ability to control certain dishes on the food menu (Sundaes, Burgers and Platters) in the 'Create' section which are visibly built on screen.
